QUIC believes that sharing the excitement of your international experiences with others, whether you are an international student commenting on your impression of life in Canada, or a Canadian student who had an invaluable experience abroad, is an important step in the building of understanding, appreciation and enjoyment across cultures.

Each year the International Photo Contest is open to: - International, Exchange and Domestic students - Students who have recetnly lived, studied, worked, volunteered or traveled abroad - Students wanting to share international experiences in Canada or from a country of origin
A panel of judges from Queen’s and the Kingston community chooses first, second, and third place winners in each category, and alsoone grand prize winner. Judges are community members who have a specific interest and experience in the arts and photography, as well as international education.
Previous judging panels included: - Director of Agnes Etherington Art Gallery - Representative/Photographer from Camera Kingston - Executive Director of the Society of Graduate and Professional Students (SGPS) - President of the Alma Mater Society (AMS) - QUIC’s International Student Advisor (and keen local photographer) - An International Student with a strong background in Photography/Film Studies major
Students who share their photos with QUIC have the chance to: - Win QUIC’s Grand Prize (past prizes included cash prize, megabus trip and via rail pass) - Win a host of other prizes donated by Kingston travel services, restaurants, cafes, and shops - Have their photo(s) enlarged and displayed at QUIC
